This project was a collaboration with fabrication artist Jason Good. Using a custom generative design process, intricate patterns were laser-etched onto wood veneer, selectively burning away the surface to reveal the polished brass substrate beneath.
The work explores the intersection of natural materials and algorithmic design — where digital systems guide the hand of fabrication, and the organic textures of wood meet the precision of machine-driven creation.
Works from this series were presented in the show "Generations: Life and Light" at Basile IE, San Diego in 2019.
