Artist Statement
Artist, coder, and seeker traversing recursive dimensions of expression and meaning.
I tend to an ever-evolving continuum of ideas, drawing on the expressive potential of code to reveal forms that emerge from generative systems. My work weaves conceptual threads into unfolding visual narratives, offering viewers a glimpse into the moment where structure, intuition, and computation converge. Each piece is a record of a processโan abstract story told through motion, geometry, and transformation.
Biography
Jacob Joaquin first learned to program on an Atari 400 using a BASIC cartridge, sparking a lifelong fascination with code as a creative medium. He holds a BA in Music Synthesis from Berklee College of Music and an MFA in Composition: New Media and Integrated Media from the California Institute of the Arts. His work spans generative art, creative coding, and interactive systems. He is an active contributor to Disorient, an international arts collective, and has developed generative projects for artists exhibited by Pace Verso, Sothebyโs, and Art Blocks.
